George Kawaa Hubbell Iii

George Kawa'a Hubbell III, 73, passed away in the presence of family on December 17, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA. George was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i on November 15,1941 to George Kawa'a Jr. and Victoria Ku'uleialoha McKee. George was raised in Honolulu and Lā'ie on O'ahu. He attended Roosevelt High School where he excelled in football as a quarterback and track as a hurdler. George later married Elena Kellogg of Burbank, California where he lived most of his adult life. George worked for many years at Airmotive Carburetor Co. and Western Cylinder in the aircraft industry. However, he was most known for his involvement with his sons in athletics and serving as a youth coach for many years. George is survived by his two sisters, Juliet Matteson of Concord, Ca. and Karen Wassman of Hilo, Hawaii, his two sons, Darren and Steven, his seven grandchildren, Rudy, Ashley, Amanda, Steven Kawa'a, D.J., William and Ethan and great-granddaughter, Keira. Services will be held January 3, 2015, 12:30pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
