George's Eulogy - In His Own Words:

My birthday is 11-7 and actually believe that is why I like to play craps!

I am the oldest of 5 children. Yes!!! Catholic. As a matter of fact, Catholic grammar school, HS and 2 years Catholic college. Altar boy as well!!! Loved the incense.

I am the 3rd oldest grandchildren of Nadima and George Adeeb and the only one named after my grandfather.

In keeping with the Catholic theme, I once seriously thought about becoming a Franciscan Brother. (Order of Saint Francis). Yes you read that right. I could have become the only brother in the order of St Francis with a questionable level of larceny.

During grammar school and HS I played the drums in a rock and roll band called Tangerine, but secretly would now love to learn to play the piano.

If I had to do it all over again, I probably would have tried to become a musician.

I cannot sing, yet was in a rock band and did backup for the group. I can only cringe as to how that sounded when amplified.

I have finally started to live a secret dream. I am learning to play the piano. Even got one given to me for free. So one of my favorite mottos is working.

I have been married over 13 years to my best friend and she keeps this crusty old fart very grounded and where he should be. BTW, she never took my last name and that is still a sore subject with me.

One of the first things I taught my kids growing up was who was on the $50.00 and $100.00 bills.
I love dogs and think cats are a waste of time. My dog, Spencer, is my bud, and I hope he can live forever.

My wife and I recently went to the pound to rescue another dog as a companion for Spencer. Our goal was a small, male, short hair dog. We chose a large, female German Shepherd. Yep, we really stuck to that plan!!!

I am a private VFR pilot, (Single Engine Land) that had a few close calls in my short fight career, but have been able to walk away from every landing. So they are ALL good!!!

I like a good practical joke, but better still I love to perform one on anybody.

I have excellent penmanship. (Sister Madelyn Sophie, would be proud)

As crusty as I appear, I do pray each day.

Loyalty is very important to me.

I collect clocks…………..all kinds

I have had several careers in my short life but looking back, had the most fun in the oil business. I miss it.

I still roll coins……and now thanks to my lovely wife, I have a machine to help me do it.

When I win the Lottery, I am positive that my wife will make sure that I spend some of that money to do some good in the world.

As smart as I think I am, I often do very dumb things.

I am a list person and get great satisfaction when I can cross something off of it with a big black magic marker.

I am a choc-o-holic…………..Love those M & M's

I am told that I do not look my age, but lately I am making sounds worse than my father and he has been in his grave for some time now.

I like to play golf and after many years at it, I still really suck.

I like the beach, but don't necessarily like the water.I have mastered sea sickness. With good drugs I found in Mexico.

I believe that CASH IS KING and that is why I think a great job is the doorman at the Plaza Hotel in NYC.

I really like my Bidet.

I like flannel sheets and big satin bindings on soft blankets.

I like to scuba dive.

I have a diving watch that is over 35 years old and still works perfectly.

My favorite color is black…..my personality is Rojo!

I like to watch ballroom dancing and wish I could dance my favorite ones…….The Pasa-Doble' and the Argentine Tango!!

I continue to collect Snow Village Xmas scenes and have a special person responsible for that……………….Thank you Marilyn.

My home office is like command central and has a ceiling that looks like you are up in the clouds.

Someone told me that my greatest times with my kids would be later in life and now I really believe that.

I complain a lot, but really do like flowers. Definitely like the expression on my wife's face when I give them to her.

I admit I like dirty, raunchy and off color jokes.

I actually own all 4 of the Lethal Weapon movies. And think they are great.

I can navigate in the air, under the water and in a car. Not bad for a city boy from Brooklyn who use to give directions by the number of streets to go in a certain direction.

I made an emergency landing in a Cessna 182, at George AF base in Apple Valley right after the Wild Weasels returned from Desert Storm 1. I think those MP's had a real thrill when they saw my last name on that Airman's Certificate and Driver's License that night.

I can fix other peoples stuff easily, but when I try to fix something of my own; I usually break it and make more work for myself.

I like to think of myself as a fair person, but many times my wife reminds me of the proper thing to do.

I believe that people come in and out of your life to either bring you something or teach you something. Some stay, some go. It's what you learn from them that counts.

When rotating the tires on your car, always rotate back to front and vice versa. Never cross radial tires.

I own a Swiss army knife that I have had for over 45 years, thanks to an old friend.

Definitely extra crunchy peanut butter over smooth.

I was asked by my wife to build a water fountain in our back yard. HUH?!!! I now have a complete water feature. With a 5 ½ foot waterfall, 3 other smaller falls and approximately 23 feet of running stream. All over 13 000 pounds of boulders and river rock. Not bad for a first try!!

I secretly move stuff around in our home to keep my wife's OCD condition going strong.

I believe that you really cannot appreciate the top until you have spent time at the bottom. And that works in many aspects of life.

It's not the miles on the car, it's the miles left in the car that count!
