Genevieve Jane Pivarnik

Genevieve Jane Pivarnik, age 87, died in Cathedral City, on Monday, February 23, 2015. The cause was congestive heart disease due complications of Alzheimer's.
Born August 31, 1927, in Valparaiso, Indiana, she lived in South Bend Indiana before settling in Cincinnati, Ohio. In Valparaiso she worked in an accounting firm in support of her husband Robert J. Pivarnik while he attended the College of Engineering at Valparaiso University. Later after the birth of their daughter, Gen thrived as mother and wife, making her family and their needs her number one priority. She was a woman of substance and known for her warmth, goodness, and strength of character. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones.
Survivors include her daughter Patti Gribow, Patti's husband Dale Gribow and granddaughter Gina Gribow. Surviving siblings are Maxine Gruel, Harold Benedict and William Benedict.
A private memorial service will be held at the Forest Lawn Cemetery , 69855 Ramon Rd, Cathedral City, CA 92234. The family requests no flowers, but memorial contributions are welcome. Donations should be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Please go to www.alz.org or call 760-328-6767.
