Genaro Perez

Genaro Mercado Perez, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and member of the community, passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on December 5, 1947, in Calexico, he dedicated his life to his family, his career, and his faith.

For over thirty years, Genaro was self-employed, successfully managing his business, Geno's Landscaping. His hard work and commitment to excellence not only provided for his family but also contributed to the beautification of the community he loved.

A proud veteran, Genaro served four years in the Air Force, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his country. His life was characterized by a spirit of service, not only to his nation but also to those around him.

Genaro is remembered as a loving and giving person. He cherished his family, friends, and his Catholic faith, embodying the values instilled in him throughout his life. His kindness and generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Perez, and their three sons, Roberto Perez, Victor Perez, and daughter, Veronica Rodriguez, along with her husband, Pete Rodriguez. Genaro also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Isaac Flores, Nadia Flores, Kenna Perez, and Peter Rodriguez, who will forever hold dear the memories they created together.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert, California, on July 11, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 AM.

Genaro Mercado Perez's legacy of love, service, and community will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all.
