Newmarket, NH: Gayle (Carleton) Marshall, 63, of Newmarket, NH, and a former resident of Merrimac, MA and Ward Hill, Haverhill, MA, died on October 17, 2015 in Dover, NH.

Born in Amesbury, MA, daughter of the late David R. and Lois (Thompson) Carleton, she graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1971. Mrs. Marshall went on to attend Rittner's School of Floral Design in Boston. Mrs. Marshall was most recently employed as a tailor for Cleary Cleaners in Rochester, NH, from where she retired. She had also been employed in the Produce Department at Walmart in Somersworth, NH.

A former member of the Ward Hill Church of Christ, Mrs. Marshall enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching John Wayne and Gene Autry movies. Mrs. Marshall was a resident of Madbury, NH for eleven years before moving to Newmarket last year.

She was predeceased by her husband, George E. Marshall who died in 2013, and is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George E., Jr. and Diana Marshall of Somersworth, NH, and Aaron B. and Bethany Marshall of Madbury, NH, a daughter, Kimberly Gard of Pembroke, NH, two brothers, David R. Carleton, Jr. of Newton, NH, and Bruce Carleton of Fremont, NH, five sisters, Brenda Tuccolo of Kingston, NH, Raylene Carleton-Wood of Murfreesboro, TN, Luanne Berube of Newton, NH, Tina Marquis of Bradford, MA, and Shari Carleton of Methuen, MA, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Marshall's Life Celebration on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will follow at 5:15 on Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
