Gaye Cherie Wagoner

June 17, 1949 — February 17, 2021

Gaye Cherie Tamietti Wagoner died unexpectedly in her home on February 17th in Lakewood California at the age of 71. She is preceded in death by siblings Doug and Roger, and her father Dale Tamietti and mother June Boyce. Cherie is survived by her husband Von, siblings Barbara and Steve, and her two children, Aaron and Zach.

Cherie was born on June 17th, 1949 to Dale Tamietti and June Kathleen Boyce. She graduated from Grainger High School in 1967 with an interest in Cosmetology. She moved with her sister and mother to the Southern California area in the mid-70s where she met her future husband, Von. She was the girl next door and he was a freelance videographer. They married after dating for two years in 1989. It was only three years later the couple welcomed twin boys into their home and Cherie set about teaching them how to bake, the art of crafting, and enjoying the great outdoors while camping. She loved her job as a clerical assistant and substitute teacher in Cerritos, CA. Her children remember her as a caring, dedicated, and colorful mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and who wanted nothing more than happiness for them.

Cherie was accomplished at water coloring and often shared her art with her loved ones. She was a generous and dedicated individual who loved her family and who was passionate about her children, nieces, and nephews.

A ceremony is scheduled for early May to lay her to rest in Tuscon. This will be a family-only event. In lieu of flowers, Cherie would prefer that donations be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences can be sent to v.w.wagoner@gmail.com. The family would like to thank everyone who offered their support during this trying time.
