Plaistow: Gary A. Carbonneau, 62 a lifelong resident of Plaistow and a member of the Plaistow Fire Department, died August 31, 2016 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry.
Born in Methuen, son of the late Alfred and Gladys (Beaupre) Carbonneau he was raised and educated in Plaistow, attending the Pollard School. A member of the Haverhill Trade School Class of 1972, Mr. Carbonneau was employed as a truck driver at Brockway-Smith for over thirty years and was recently employed by Busby Construction.
A member of the Plaistow Fire Department for forty-two years, as a Firefighter and EMT, he was one of the founders and member of the Fire Department Honor Guard, established in 2012. He also served the department and town as a CPR Instructor and EMS Instructor and had worked for Shanahan's Ambulance from 1981 until 1991.
Mr. Carbonneau enjoyed his pets and all animals and woodworking. He designed and built the American Flag drop off at the Plaistow Fire Department.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of eleven years, Elaine D. (Duquette) Carbonneau, a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly A. and Andrew Toth of Hampstead, a step-daughter and her husband Danyelle and Rafael Garcia, Jr. of Methuen, a step-daughter, Lisa Amar of Delray,FL, two step-sons, Kenneth Nadeau of Miami,FL and Matthew Nadea and his wife, Melissa of Derry, a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie Lee and George A. "Butch" Peabody of Plaistow, two step-grandchildren Samuel and Benjamin Garcia and several nieces and nephews. He was anxiously anticipating the birth of his daughter's first child.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. His funeral with Fire Department Honors will begin on Thursday morning at 10 a. in the funeral home with final committal services in Plaistow Cemetery.
