Gabriela Hernandez

Gabriela Peña Hernandez, 81, was born on February 25, 1942, in Distrito Federal, Mexico, to Guadalupe Peña and Ignacia Benitez, passed away on March 26, 2023. She resided in Coachella, CA at the time of her passing. Gabriela came to the United States in the late 1950's for work and met her husband Emilio in Chicago, Illinois where they married and started a family, then moved to Indio, California in 1973 were they raised their seven children Rudy Hernandez, Quirina Ochoa, Emilio Jr Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Ignacia Lopez, Tomas Hernandez, and Elena Reyes. She was welcome by the Lord, her husband Emilio, and great grandson Elias Cuevas-Hernandez. Gabriela is survived by her seven children, daughter in-laws Marcy Hernandez and Mireya Hernandez, son-in-law’s Gilbert Ochoa, Eric Lopez and Franky Reyes, 18 grandchild, 11 great grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She spent many years working in the labor fields and citrus packing houses.

Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Coachella, CA.
