Gabriel came with his parents to the United States at the age of three and later became a naturalized citizen.
He was a Mercedes repair technician and worked alongside his father Alberto at his father's shop, Prestige Mercedes Benz in Baldwin Park. He took over the shop when his father passed away.
He is survived by his mother Orieta Pelaez, his brother Dr. Adrian Pelaez, his sister in law Juanita Mantz and his thirteen year old son Nicolas Dominic Pelaez and Nicolas' mother Sally DeAnda and Nicolas' brother Robert.
