Frederick Rish

Frederick Lee Rish, age 95, passed away in Cerritos, California on April 12, 2024. He was born on March 3, 1929 in Fresno, California. As a young man, he enjoyed hiking and camping in Yosemite with his family. He was fond of steam engines, especially the Southern Pacific Daylight. After graduating from University of California, Berkeley, Frederick settled in Southern California where he met his wife, Arlene. They were married for over 50 years and raised two daughters in Cypress, California. Frederick had an extensive career as an Aerospace Engineer at Rockwell International (now Boeing) where he worked on the Space Shuttle. He also co-authored the book, The Structural Analysis of Shells. Frederick was a member of the Lutheran church which he attended regularly until November 2023. Last but not least, he was a family man who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. Frederick is survived by his two daughters (and sons in law): Karla (Eric) Neu (South Pasadena) and Kristen (Jeremy) Victor (Cypress); four grandchildren: Byron Neu, Arabella Victor, Konrad Neu, and Anierin Victor; and his sister, Nancy Rish Anderson, of Fresno. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and infant son, Jonathan Lee Rish. Frederick will be laid to rest next to his wife at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cypress on May 10, 2024.
