Fred Roy Vickers, 88, born on June 14, 1931, in Long Beach, CA, US, passed away July 19, 2019. He resided in Seal Beach, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Long Beach, California.

Fred was born in Long Beach to his parents Charles and Hazel Vickers. He and his wife Beverly got married in 1955 and lived in Long Beach, moving to Los Alamitos where they lived for 40 years. Fred's father Charles was the General Manager of the Port of Long Beach and his uncle Sam was the City Manager in Long Beach. Fred graduated from Long Beach Poly High School in 1949 and he went to college at Long Beach State graduating in 4 years and
completed his Masters degree graduating at the top of his class with Great Distinction. He also completed graduate work at UCLA in public administration. He obtained his teaching credential and he began his career out of college as a high school teacher at LB Jordan. His proudest academic accomplishment was his Commanding Officer position in the US Coast Guard. Fred's work career included work at the LB Gas Department in administration, the Queen Mary as the Administrative Officer, he was a Vice President for for Agrex a large grain export company and finished his career as an executive at Apria Health Care. Fred was an athlete playing high school football, achieving his brown belt in karate, he completed 4 hole-in-ones as a recreational golfer, and he was an avid recreational runner and snow skier.

Fred lost his wife Beverly in 2010 and was widowed. Fred and Beverly became Christians in their 60's and attended Calvary Chapel Pacific Coast in Westminster. Fred is survived by his brother Chuck Vickers of Lincoln, CA; sister Joyce Navarre of Huntington Beach, CA; son Jim Vickers and daughter in law Cindy Vickers of San Diego, CA; daughter Sheri Eaton and son in law Jim Eaton of Long Beach, CA; and 5 grandchildren. 2 Corinthians 5:1-5.
