Fred Gutierrez Dangla Cruz

November 1, 1953 — February 12, 2021

Fred was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, and uncle. Joyful to his colleagues, he was a positive force in so many lives.

He was a diligent student in his younger years. He graduated from Ramon Magsaysay High School in Manila in 1970. Soon after, he completed a bachelors of science degree in Civil Engineering in 1975 then a second one in Sanitary Engineering the following year at the National University. He obtained his master's degree in Business Administration at Metro Manila College in 1989.

For years, he built a career as a Senior Financial Planning and Budget Specialist in the National Power Corporation (Napocor) in the Philippines. He then decided to put up his own construction business after taking an early retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Association of Government Civil Engineers.

Life brought him to the US in 1999. An engineer at heart, he sought opportunities in the construction industry. He was a project manager in a Korean construction company and worked part-time at the Wilshire Regent Company until he retired. He was a faithful servant leader of the USA Missionary Families of Christ, San Gabriel Chapter.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Cornelia (Connie), their only daughter, Charisse, and family members they consider as their own children, John Lorenz Bautista and Janice Dangla Cruz.

Fred loved singing, travelling and reading the Bible. He will forever be remembered by friends and family for his kindness, good humor, thoughtfulness, funny jokes and engaging smile.

A graveside ceremony in Forest Lawn-Covina Hills will be held in his honor on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 12 noon.
