Frank Marquez Sr.

June 6, 1968 — September 20, 2024

Indio, CA

Frank Gonzalez Marquez Sr. was the most loving father, son, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Indio, California, on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Born in Yuma, Arizona, on June 6, 1968, Frank was the cherished son of Johnny Ramirez Marquez and Maria Eva Marquez, and the younger sibling of Johnny Ramirez Marquez Jr. and Maria Annette Marquez. At the age of 4, Frank and his family relocated to the Coachella Valley, where he spent his formative years and graduated from Indio High School in 1987.

Frank’s two children, Frankie Marquez Jr. and Brianna Marquez, were the absolute center of his world. Their presence in his life gave him the purpose and drive to grow into the remarkable man he became. His boundless love and devotion to them shaped everything he did, whether it was taking them to movies and parks during their childhood or remaining a constant and supportive figure as they grew older. Frank’s close bond with his daughter Brianna brought him to Los Angeles often, where they shared countless adventures together—from skydiving to pottery classes, exploring new foods, and creating lifelong memories.

Frank faced many challenges throughout his life, but his faith in God gave him the strength to overcome each one. Through his unwavering belief and his commitment to the NA program, he always found his way. His resilience and determination transformed him into the incredible person we all knew and loved.

Frank’s professional journey led him through various fields of construction before he discovered his true passion as an electrician. A dedicated learner, he continually expanded his skills, ultimately achieving his goal of joining the IBEW 440, where he was a proud member.

Beyond his professional life, Frank was a radiant soul whose presence could light up any room. His infectious laughter and outgoing personality endeared him to everyone he met, forging friendships wherever he went. He loved staying active by going to the gym, getting into political debates, and savoring good food at his favorite restaurants. He was a man of deep convictions and endless curiosity, always eager to engage in thoughtful conversations or share a meal with those he loved.

Frank was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Johnny and Eva, his siblings, Johnny Jr. and Annette, and his nephew, Marky. He is survived by his children, Frankie Jr. and Brianna, and his faithful dog, Bambi.

Frank embraced life with open arms, filling his days with new experiences and personal growth. He became a well-rounded, gentle soul who lived fully, surrounded by love.

His family invites all who knew him to gather and celebrate his life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Forest Lawn Coachella Chapel, with the funeral following on Friday, September 25, at 10 a.m. at the same location, followed by burial at Coachella Valley Cemetery.

Let us remember Frank for the kind, joyful man he was, a loving father and friend who cherished every moment and lived life to the fullest.
