Frank F. Jurkovich

October 28, 1937 — November 25, 2015

At the age of 78, Frank Jurkovich passed away on Wed. Nov. 25th in Palm Desert, California, his home for the majority of his life. Frank was born and raised in Chillicothe, IL to parents Frank F. and Lillian F. Jurkovich. Frank was the oldest son of four children. He is survived by his older sister Veronica Ruggles, his younger brother Ray Jurkovich and his five children, daughter Lesa Stiger, son David Jurkovich, and daughter Cheryl Damon while married to Linda; twin sons Sean and Ronald Jurkovich while married to Ginger; grandson Thomas Stiger, grandddaughter Summer Stiger Johnson, grandson Joshua Stiger, and grandson Cody Damon; along with great-grandson Nickolas Stiger, great-grandson Luke Johnson, and great-grandson Gabriel Johnson; along with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his younger sister Paula Cunningham Clark and his parents. Frank attended college at the University of Illinois in Champagne, IL. After graduation he moved to Southern California to continue his education for a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and went to work for TRW. Frank worked in the aerospace industry for many years. He loved southern California-living for the mild weather and desert climate. He enjoyed a number of sports, hobbies and do-it-yourself projects. He was a skilled carpenter and brick layer and took on projects such as building his own spacious, two-story home. Frank was a talented bowler, football player and golfer. He played high-school football, participated in pro-golf tournaments after college and even bowled a perfect 300 once. Frank also enjoyed bridge, tennis and reading. His quick wit and jovial sense of humor made him a popular companion. Frank also had an entrepreneurial spirit which had him coming up with new ideas to make money and own his own business. May his genius and talents and passion for life live on through his children and be a blessing to everyone in their circle of influence.
