Francisco Duyo Jimenez, only son of Nonito Jimenez and Dolores Duyo Jimenez, was born on November 10, 1943 in Isabela, Negros Occidental, Philippines. His father died at when he was six (6) years old. He is survived by his wife, Aljowema Latoza Jimenez (79), their four children Francis (Myra), Tricia (Chad), James (Abby), and Janice and five grandchildren Colin (16) and Rhys (12), children of Tricia and Chad; Ethan (14), Chayce (8) and Addisyn (7), children of James and Abby; and his sister Isabel Casuncad.
Francisco Jimenez, also known as “Epsoy” to his loved ones, immigrated to the US on May 7, 1969 to work for Boeing located in Seattle, Washington as an Electrical Engineer. Epsoy graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering on August 8, 1965. He was later admitted to practice as an Assistant Electrical Engineer under the authority of the Republic of the Philippines on November 10, 1966. He was duly registered as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering in the State of California on February 8, 1978. Epsoy’s skills and dedication to his profession had enabled him to work on projects such as San Onfree Nuclear Plant, Hoover Dam, the LA County Metro Lines, a rapid transit line, which was one of the first commuter rail systems in Los Angeles, and many more.
While building his career in the United States, Epsoy met his wife Aljowema in Los Angeles, California and were later married on September 1st, 1973 at Mother of Good Council Church. Together Epsoy and Aljowema raised four amazing children Francis, Tricia, James and Janice and spent their lives seeing what this beautiful world had to offer; travelling across the US, visiting 49 states, and exploring six of the seven continents. Epsoy was the epitome of a family man not only supporting his wife and children but also caring for and about the wellbeing of his mother (Dolores Duyo Jimenez) and two sisters (Merced Jimenez and Isabel Casuncad). To his family he was the patriarch and to his peers he was the constant, the reliable, the easygoing and even keeled friend.
