Merrimac, MA: Francis P. Myers, Jr., 62, of Merrimac died on February 28, 2014 at his home.

Born in Haverhill, MA and raised and educated in Plaistow, NH, son of the late Francis P. and Loretta A. (St. Onge) (Comeau) Myers, he attended the Pollard School and graduated from Timberlane Regional High School with the Class of 1969. He went on to attend Northern Essex Community College and the Medical Professional Institute, where he received his certification in phlebotomy and electrocardiography.

Mr. Myers worked as a certified phlebotomist and electrocardiogram technician at Pentucket Medical Center for many years. He was previously employed as a technician at Hewlett Packard and as a maintenance worker at Phillips Academy, Andover, MA.

An avid Boston sports fan, Mr. Myers was an accomplished blues musician. He was a member of the Fanin Street Blues group and played the organ at Holy Angels Church in Westville (Plaistow, NH), for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening and had two birds and a cat, Angel, whom he adored.

He is survived by his wife, Betty R. Myers of Bradford, MA, his brother, Laurence Comeau of Holiday, FL, his sister, Kathleen M. White of Newton, NH, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Comeau and his sister, Janice McLean.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will be on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
