Manchester, NH: Francis P. Langan, Jr., 80, a former resident of Newton, NH from 1966 to 2012, died on May 24, 2016 at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center in Manchester, NH.

Born in Lowell, MA, son of the late Francis P. and Dorothy (Burkell) Langan, he graduated from Lowell High School and went on to attend a local business school. Mr. Langan served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1961.

Mr. Langan was previously employed as a clerk for B&M Railroad, Holmes Transportation, and Koffman Paper Products. He was most recently employed as a clerk for the Internal Revenue Service, where he served for ten years.

A member of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish at Mary Mother of the Church in Newton, he was also member of the Teamsters Union Local 633. Mr. Langan enjoyed surf fishing, hunting, and blueberrying. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed going for walks.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Ann (Stanley) Langan in 1989, and is survived by three sons, Thomas E. Langan and his wife Lori of Kingston, NH, Stephen F. Langan and his wife Stephanie of Newton, NH, and Christopher J. Langan of Wakefield, NH, a daughter, Elizabeth A. Martineau and her husband Anthony of Sandown, NH, a sister, Nancy A. Santos of Dover, NH, six grandchildren, Christine, James, Austin, Trevor, Aaron, and Jayden, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow. His funeral will begin on Saturday, May 28 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary Mother of the Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Newton, NH. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Newton. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 166 S River Rd #210, Bedford, NH 03110.
