Bonita Springs, FL: Francis G. "Frank" Doherty, 82, of Londonderry, NH and Bonita Spring, FL, died on January 18, 2014.

Born in Boston, MA, son so of the late Francis and Marjorie (Cleary) Doherty, he was raised in Boston and Quincy and graduated from North Quincy High School.

Mr. Doherty served for two years in the Navy and then in the United States Coast Guard from 1952-1955 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Petty Officer First Class.

Following his honorable discharge from the Coast Guard, Mr. Doherty worked as a mailer for the Boston Globe for thirty-seven and was a member of Teamster's Local #1. He also served as Deputy Sherriff for the Norfolk County Sherriff's Department for twenty-years.

A member of the Knights of Columbus of Quincy, MA, he played the ukulele and was an active participant in all of the events at the Nevins and at his residence in Bonita Springs, FL, where he spent winters.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia A. (Faherty) Doherty, and his son, Patrick F. Doherty, and is survived by his son Michael F. Doherty and his wife Corinne of Charleston, SC, three daughters, Karen M. Doherty of Merrimack, NH, and Kathleen P. Carmody and her husband Stephen of Naples, FL, and Kristine E. Larkin and her husband Richard of Groton, MA, fourteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Burial with military honors will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Plaistow. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
