Francis "Frank" Keith Dobbins

Francis "Frank" K. Dobbins Jr. of Moscow died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Clark House Assisted Living Center. He was 88.

Frank was born in Marshall, Texas, on Oct. 29, 1923, to Francis Sr. and Delia Dobbins. He spent his early years in Dallas and later New Orleans. Frank joined the U.S. Army and served in World War II as a radio repairman and was stationed in Paris, France.

After completing his tour in the Army, Frank received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University.

On June 18, 1949, Frank married Yvonne O. Harding in Schenectady, N.Y. and honeymooned in Niagara Falls. In 1950, the newly married couple moved to Dallas, Texas, where they had two sons, William and Robert.

After moving to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1959 to work for Lockheed Aircraft Company, Frank attended the University of California Los Angeles receiving a master's degree in engineering.

Frank was an ordained elder of the Presbyterian Church, loved photography, home movies and woodworking. He retired from Lockheed in 1979 and moved with his wife, Yvonne, to Fort Bragg, California, where they discovered an avid interest in camping and fishing.

He moved with his wife, Yvonne, to Moscow, Idaho in 2011 to be closer to his family.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Francis Sr. and Delia, brother William, and grandson Isaac Dobbins. He is survived by his sons William and Robert, granddaughters Aarika and Elise and grandson Anthony.
