Kingston, NH:  Francis L. DeTour, 85, of Kingston, NH, and formerly of Beverly, MA, died on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA.

Born in Beverly, MA, son of the late Frank and Florence (Stoddard) DeTour, he was raised and educated in Beverly, MA.  He attended Beverly High School and completed engineering courses at Capital Radio Engineering Institute, Washington, D.C. before working as a quality assurance engineer at Sylvania Corporation, Woburn, MA.  He later retired from Raytheon, North Andover, MA.

Mr. DeTour served as a Coxswain in the United States Navy during World War II and was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal.  

Mr. DeTour enjoyed glass blowing, chair caning, traveling, especially to Spain and other global destinations, and times spent at Long Beach, Rockport, MA.

The husband of the late Phyllis M. (Travis) DeTour, he is survived by two sons, Darrell F. DeTour and his wife Angela Martin of Lebanon, Maine, David T. DeTour of Kingston, New Hampshire; a daughter, Diane L. DeTour of Malden, Massachusetts; a sister, Joanne Hosman of Beverly, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Katherine Colleran, Jennifer Kelly, Travis DeTour, and Adam DeTour; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 12 to 1 pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., (Plaistow Village), Plaistow, NH.  A funeral service will follow at 1:15 pm at the funeral home.
