Frances was born in Spokane, Washington on December 10, 1014 to Stella and Joseph Elfonty - both Hungarian. They had 5 girls and 2 boys. Frances and her family moved to Butte, Montana, several years later. When Frances was 13 years old, Her mother and 4 sisters moved to Los Angeles. Frances met and married Gordon in 1936. Frances was very involved with the Girls Scouts for many years, which gave her much pleasure, as they didn't have any children of their own. Frances was very creative, enjoyed gardening, writing short stories, poems and painting. Gordon and Frances enjoyed off-roading in their Toyota Land Rover. They covered many miles and created many memories. Forest Lawn Memorial Park - Hollywood Hills
