Frances Mary Olivia

September 6, 1931 — June 12, 2022

Frances Mary Olivia, 90, passed away on June 12th, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.

The youngest of 7 siblings, she was born on September 6th, 1931, in Chicago, IL. to Louis and Vincenza "Jennie" Bernardo. Some of her fondest childhood memories were of summers spent outdoors and of cooking homemade Italian meals with her family. A lover of music, Frances sang in the church choir at Holy Rosary Church and fostered her interests in the arts by joining the Wells High School Choir. She also pursued other artistic endeavors by enrolling in tap and ballet lessons, the memories of which she was extremely proud. It was through her love of performance that Frances met her husband, Pat Olivia. Together, they relocated to California where they raised 8 children: Janice, JoAnn, Joseph, John, Julie, Jamie, Jeana and James.

A loving and deeply devoted mother, Frances belonged to the Parent Teacher Associations at Roscoe Elementary School, Sun Valley Junior High School, and John H. Francis Polytechnic High School. She also spent many years volunteering for the Sun Valley Little League. After working 3 years as an Education Aide at Roscoe Elementary, Frances went on to spend 25 years as the school's office assistant.

Throughout her life, Frances was guided by her steadfast faith. She spent 8 years as a volunteer for the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary's Religious Education Program. In her later years, Frances belonged to the Red Hat Society, a beloved group of women that she cherished greatly.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband. Her legacy will live on in her 8 children, 4 nieces, 5 nephews, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be interred at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on Tuesday, July 12th.
