Frances William Kiefer

Francis (Frank) William Kiefer, 88, born on March 22, 1927, in New York, NY, passed away September 2, 2015. Although originally from The Bronx - and proud of it; for the last 30 years, he resided in Palm Desert, CA. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.

Frank was a New York City policeman for 26 years and was also proud of his service in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wisconsin during WWII. After leaving the police department, he relocated to the Coachella Valley, working for the Marriott Corporation for 25 years until his retirement in 2010.

Frank is survived by his wife, Gwen Kiefer, 89, of Palm Desert, CA, his son Mark Plinneke of Rogue River, OR, and grandchildren, Nicholas Plinneke of Santa Monica, CA and Natalie Plinneke of San Francisco, CA. In addition, he is survived by his son, Stephan Kiefer of New York and granddaughter, Stephanie Ubach of Florida.

A visitation followed by Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4:00 - 6:00pm at Forest Lawn, Cathedral City.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 10:00am.
