Frances Hernandez

Frances Marie Olea Hernandez, 87, born on January 10, 1937, in Yuma, AZ, passed away October 14, 2024. She was surrounded by her and her husband's 5 generations of family members by her bedside. She resided in Desert Hot Springs, CA at the time of her passing. 

After being diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer, she was under hospice care and battled courageously for almost a year. Her husband who preceded her in death, Gavino Hernandez, also of Yuma, AZ, passed back in 2007. 

Frances is survived by her 6 children, Michael, Elizabeth (Leon), Donna (Manzanarez), Arleen (Pichardo), Christopher, and Veronica (Rodriguez), 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.  And her two sisters, Marie Noriega and Olga Quintero.

Frances enjoyed spending time with her family whenever she could. She was an incredible cook, she also enjoyed knitting, sewing, and tending to her plants.  She was the matriarch of this family and will be missed immensely.  She had a deep foundation in her faith as a Christian woman.  She is once again reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Gavino, they were married 49 years.
