Floyd Roswell Parks, Jr., 89, born on December 30, 1929, in Los Angles, CA, passed away July 16, 2019. He resided in Laguna Niguel, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
Bud is predeceased by his mother Marian, father Floyd, wife Peggy, brother John and sister in laws Elvira and Kathleen. He is survived by Wife Maureen, Son Jeff, Daughter Carrie and Son in Law David, Grandchildren Lawren and David (wife Melissa) and great Granddaughter Everly, also, Brother Bill (Alicia Sister in Law), Sister Jeannie(Ken Brother in Law)-Aunt Joanne and Aunt Nancy, Nephews-David, Brad, Rick, Eric, Doug: Nieces- Anne, Shannon, Betsy, Leslie, Linda, Jen, Lori, Ann and great nieces and nephews Jeff, Eric, Zachary, Amanda, Rebecca, Harrison, Kenneth, Richard, Laura, Jennifer, Jonathan, Rebecca, Jennifer and Jace,
Bud was a native Californian- He was an Eagle Scout, along with his 2 brothers, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 121 in Los Angeles. He graduated from LA High School, Dartmouth College and Johns Hopkins Medical School 55', Residency at Cornell NYC Hospital 56'-57', a year of Public Health Service in Schurz, Nevada 57'-58' and completed his surgical Residency at UCLA, 61' under Dr William Longmire. He was Board Certified in General and Thorasic Surgery, working in the pioneering of Cardiovascular Surgery, Fellowship UCLA 62'. He worked as a Surgeon in Bay City, Michigan and then returned to practice in Downey, California and then to Mammoth Lakes, California.
Buddy, as his family called him, was a student of military history, skier, hunter, pilot, backpacker, hiker, do it your selfer and a world traveler. He joined the Ski Hosts at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area for 15 years.
Bud cared deeply about his Family and each and every one of his dear friends that he was fortunate enough to make through his life. He traveled and called frequently to maintain as many of these dear people in his life as he possibly could.
His sense of humor and all out love of people and work will be greatly missed and held dear by all who had the most wonderful pleasure of knowing him.
