Florencia Satorre Chong

February 29, 1932 — January 18, 2026

Florencia "Flor or Ens” Chong, a beloved matriarch, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, California. Born on February 29, 1932, in Butuan City, Philippines, Flor lived a life rich with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

As a dedicated housewife, Flor devoted herself to nurturing her children—Judy Briones (Roland Briones), Henry Chong, Charlie Chong (Gay Isabel Chong), William Chong (Juliet Chong), and Noel Chong (Charissa Chong). Her unwavering support and care created an environment filled with warmth and kindness. She was also a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren, including Leslie Karen Boiser, Aisabelle Anne Fudali, Carlo Huan Chong, Jet Anthony Chong, Duane Keith Chong, Kendrick Jude Chong, and Kerwin Joshua Chong. Most recently, she reveled in the joy of being a great-grandmother to Juliana Isabel Fudali and Noah Alexander Fudali, leaving behind a legacy that embodies her spirit of generosity and love.

Flor had a unique gift for storytelling, often regaling her family with humorous tales that brought laughter and joy to their gatherings. Her favorite meals took center stage during family get-togethers, where her culinary talents shone bright, enabling her to create lasting memories around the dinner table. A true fashionista, Flor had a sweet demeanor that endeared her to everyone she met. She was known for her generosity, extending herself not only to family and friends but also to those in need, often reminding us of the importance of kindness and compassion.

Throughout her life, Flor shared invaluable wisdom with her loved ones, encouraging them to be generous and treat others kindly, a principle that reflected her own beautiful character. She enjoyed cooking, dining out with family, savoring mango tea and boba, and engaging in word search puzzles, enriching her days with simple pleasures.

Flor's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly the success and character of her children and grandchildren. They carry forward her legacy of resilience, kindness, and the importance of good-natured interactions, a testament to her nurturing influence.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Huan Seng Chong, and her cherished daughter, Chona Chong. Their memories will forever be intertwined with the love Flor imparted upon all who were privileged to know her.

As we remember Flor, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by compassion, joy, and a profound love for her family. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those she has left behind.

A private viewing and blessing will be held for intimate family and close friends. Cremation will follow on January 28, 2026 at 9:30 AM. The family thanks you for your prayers and understanding during this time.
