Florencia Alegria

November 20, 1933 — March 3, 2017

Florencia Alegria, 83, born on November 20, 1933, in Atenas, Costa Rica, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017.

Florencia had a zest for life and was loved by all who knew her. She retired after working for Safeguard Printing for 35 years. She was considered an ideal employee because of her strong work ethic. Florencia was proud to be an American Citizen and voted in every election. She frequented the gym and was active in "Silver Sneakers" where she swam, did zumba, and enjoyed other activities. Florencia loved taking annual trips to Costa Rica. Her cooking was like no other, and she always made sure you left her house having eaten and had a cup of coffee. Her true and abiding passion was her family, and she was known for her integrity and dignity. As a mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, she had a lot of love to give.

Florencia had seven children. Her oldest son, Fernando, is deceased. She is survived by her three daughters, Lorena, Blanca, and Flor; three sons, Walter, Edgar, and Harold; twenty grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.

She resided in Los Angeles, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.

The family asks that you stop and smell the roses, enjoy the birds chirping, and hug a little tighter. That is what Florencia would wish.
