Florence B. Antisdel is busy helping reorganize Heaven after her passing at Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Anaheim, California on January 11, 2022 due to dementia. She will be very much missed by her only child, Lynn Marie, but will be remembered for her unique personality, curiosity and knowing that the only right way was her way.
Flo was the only girl of five children born in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin family home of Carl and Frances (Schmidt) Blend. She attended Girl's Trade & Tech School during her high school years, learning the skills of seamstress. She utilized these skills heavily making the wardrobe for her family in the years following.
In December of 1943 at St. Nicholas Church in Milwaukee, Flo married the love of her life, Eugene Antisdel.
Business opportunities for Gene, meant the family moved from Milwaukee to Green Bay, then to California in 1960 arriving first in Los Altos, then on to La Habra, Walnut Creek, and finally to La Palma, California. While in La Palma, Flo spent 23 years volunteering at La Palma Hospital. She also volunteered at the Performing Arts Center in Cerritos and had numerous friends and acquaintances. She and her husband loved the Southern California area and enjoyed 50 years together until Gene's death in 1994. She is interred next to Gene at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, California.
Flo is predeceased by her husband, parents, all siblings and one nephew. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Ron Blacker, Ron's children, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Flo's family has been very appreciative of all the close care given to her by staff at Brookdale where she had been coddled and kept busy during the six years she lived there. Thank you to all at Brookdale who contributed to her achieving the age of 98 by keeping her happy, safe and in good spirits.
Following Flo's specific request, there will be no services.
Memorial contributions, in Flo's name, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, online at www.alz.org
