Flordeliza Esguerra Paguio, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and compassionate soul, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Diamond Bar, California. Born on September 26, 1941, in Parañaque, Philippines, she lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service both to her family and her community.

Flordeliza earned her Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. She initially contributed her talents to the research department of the Philippine government, demonstrating early on her strong commitment to public service. In 1974, she embarked on a new chapter, moving to the United States, where she dedicated 26 years of her life to the Department of Children's Services in Los Angeles County. Her work was a reflection of her deeply caring nature and her unwavering protection of the vulnerable.

A loving, caring, and protective soul, Flordeliza’s greatest joy was her family. She found immense happiness in family gatherings, whether large or small, cherishing every moment spent together. Her devotion was especially evident in her relationship with her four beloved grandchildren, to whom she was completely devoted. Those fortunate enough to know her remember a kind-hearted woman whose love and warmth touched all who crossed her path.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Danilo C. Paguio; daughters Cecilia P. Rheins and Maria Charina Paguio-Ruelas; grandchildren Madison G. Rheins, Spencer E. Rheins, Noah T. Ruelas, and Jude M. Ruelas; sons-in-law Scott Rheins and Eric Ruelas; as well as her siblings Bessie Felipe, Marcy Esguerra, Ricardo Esguerra, and Ched Terraneo, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherished her dearly. Her surviving family includes Wally Felipe, Robert Terraneo, Cocoy Esguerra, Alex Felipe, Jill Felipe, Lily Felipe, Luke Felipe, Ken Felipe, Darlene Felipe, Kaydee Felipe, Dylan Felipe, Gina Terraneo, Chris Adriance, Arthur Adriance, Jenny Tan, Andre Tan, Chloe Tan, Sophia Tan, Raymond Tan Jr., George Esguerra, Malvin Esguerra, Ayie Esguerra, Lucille Esguerra, Louise Esguerra, Maria Katrina Esguerra, Kirsten Kate Esguerra, and Neil Francisco.

Flordeliza was preceded in death by her parents, Crisostomo Leonardo Esguerra and Praxedes Francisco Esguerra; sister Edna Esguerra Tan; and brother-in-law Leony Tan.

A visitation will be held on June 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn – Covina Hills – Memory Chapel, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA 91724. The funeral service will follow on June 16, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Denis Catholic Church, 2151 South Diamond Bar Boulevard, Diamond Bar, CA 91765.

As we say goodbye to Flordeliza, we hold close to heart the memory of a woman whose gentle kindness and boundless love created a legacy that will live on through those she treasured most. Her life was a testament to the power of devotion and the enduring strength of family bonds. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and eternally loved.
