The world lost a beloved mother, Flordeliza Buenaventura Dacer, 73, who passed away on May 5, 2022 after 8 months of courageous battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her only daughter, Mariefe; son-in-law, Walter and grandchildren, Katherine and Chase. She is also survived by her brother, Feliciano and her sisters, Leonarda and Nenita. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Enrique, Christino Sr. and Celerino.
Flordeliza was born to the late Anastacio and Silvestra Buenaventura, January 22, 1949 in Manila, Philippines. She was the fifth child out of 7 children. When she was young, her father died, so she made a sacrifice to give up her desire to complete her education and her dream to become a certified dressmaker to help her mother support their family. Flor spent her young life helping her family and taking care of her mother who passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. When her mother passed away, she devoted her life caring for her daughter, nieces, Shirley and Rose Marie, and nephews, Romano and Daniel. She was gentle, loving and a dedicated mother. She would attend to their needs, bring them to school, do house chores then care for them again after school. She also took care of Yasmeen and Diane who are children of Shirley and Romano. She loved them like her own; they fondly called her Nanay. Most of all, she loved her only daughter, Mariefe who made up the entirety of her world. In 2015, she migrated to the United States to reunite with her daughter, sister and brother. She enjoyed watching her Filipino shows, listening to her favorite songs, cooking, cleaning, sewing, caring for her plants, diamond stitching and doting on her two grandchildren, Katherine and Chase. Finally, Flordeliza was also a woman of prayer and a Marian devotee; she spends hours praying Novenas and watching the Holy mass daily. When she was diagnosed with cancer in August 2021, she showed her unwavering faith and her submission to the will of God. Flordeliza was a remarkable woman, a woman of faith, an obedient daughter, loving sister and a beloved mother to her children. She will be missed greatly, but her life will always be an inspiration to those who knew her especially the children that she cared for.
