Floraine B. Gitell

Floraine (Flo) B. Gitell, 91, of Palm Desert, Calif., passed away on April 8, 2018. She was born on September 30, 1926, to Louis and Rose Predmestky in Fremont, Neb. She married Jerry Gitell on March 24, 1945 in Los Angeles, Calif. Flo met her future husband, Jerry at a USO dance in Los Angeles while she was on a family vacation to the west coast from NE. They fell in love immediately, and this love lasted a lifetime. She raised 3 children, Dennis, Dona and Dee Ann in the San Fernando Valley. She loved entertaining and having large family get togethers especially at the holidays. Jerry owned a furniture store in the San Fernando Valley for several years, and Flo was always by his side as his support throughout those years. After her husband retired they moved to Palm Springs and then Rancho Mirage. During those years they had an RV and traveled the US, as well as traveling and cruising around the world. Flo and Jerry had a wonderful 57 years together with a love that never died and now they are together once again. Love you both forever and ever. She leaves behind 3 children, Dennis Gitell, Dona Stevens, Dee Ann (Mark) Anderson, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-children. The family suggest that donations be made to Braille Institute Los Angeles or the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
