Fernando Ernesto Maldonado

Fernando Ernesto Maldonado was born in Los Angeles, California on February 2, 1990. Although born an only child to late Irma Amparo Maldonado, Fernando grew up with his extended family who included his aunt Martha Ochoa and his uncle Max Ochoa whom he regarded as his second mom and his father.
Fernando graduated from Los Osos High school in 2008 and went on to receive an Associate of Occupational Status Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts. Following this milestone, Fernando began his culinary career as a chef at the Chateau Marmont Hotel. Here his passion flourished, where his dream to some day open a small cafe in France was reinforced.
Along with his passion for cooking, Fernando held a great appreciation for all genres of music. His diverse taste didn't just stop there, he also had a wide range of hobbies. Everything from picking up new instruments, to snowboarding, to being a self proclaimed ping pong master, Fernando wasn't afraid to venture into anything that sparked his interest.
Fernando was a strong, kind hearted individual. Even with all his ambition, he never took life too seriously and he projected that through his contagious laugh and infectious smile. Most importantly, Fernando was deeply devoted to his family and all his loved ones.
His life was unexpectedly cut short on March 8, 2014. He is predeceased by his mother Irma Maldonado.
He is survived by his parents, Max and Martha Ochoa; sisters, Laura Ochoa, Kiara Ochoa, Yeimy Serrano and grandmother, Irma Acosta. He is also survived by his uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at Forest Lawn- Covina Hills, 21300 Via Verde Drive Covina, CA 91724. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014. Interment will follow on Saturday, March 22 at 12 p.m.
