Fe Ledesma Fullon

February 13, 1924 — July 22, 2021

Fe Ledesma Fullon or Inday Fe as she was fondly called, was born in Pototan, Iloilo on February 13, 1924, the oldest child of Pedro Fullon and Salvacion Pacificador Ledesma. She was also the oldest grandchild of Primitivo Gonzales Ledesma and Ana Pacificador.

Being the oldest, she had many privileges -such as a special place at the dining room table right next to the head of the family complete with her own silver and china table setting fit for a princess.

All her clothes were custom-made with intricate embroidery including her undergarments, nightclothes, bath towels, hankies, etc. It was well-remembered by everyone in the household that her laundry was meticulously handled and supervised by Lola Ana who would smell and kiss her clothes and make sure no dirt, no dust, no bugs came near them -by fanning the clothes as the household help ironed them. Lola Ana would also pick the ripest, sweetest, cleanest mangoes from the farm for her to eat.

She grew up in a big household full of older folks like her grandparents, her parents, her mother's siblings and the house staff. As the apple of Lolo Tivo's eyes, everyone doted on her especially her mother's oldest sister Concordia who raised her as her own and her mother's youngest sister, Sr. Catalina, a nun, who became her confidante.

She was a bright and curious little girl loved by everyone. So when her younger siblings and cousins arrived, they too, grew to love her because by being so loved, she knew nothing else but to love; and loved them she did!.

She was always at the top of her class academically but was humble and unaffected practicing her high school valedictory speech on a mound in the backyard all by herself and surprising even Lolo Tivo when she was honored as #1 of that year's graduating class..

She was also the very first Queen of Pototan, recalling those days when she and her court paid an official visit to the governor, knowing and practicing all the proper etiquette at the receiving line, introduction, at the table, at the dance, etc. She would have been a perfect diplomat's wife had she chosen to marry one of her most ardent suitors.

She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Teaching and a Master's degree from the Ateneo de Manila University. She taught for several years at Santa Isabel College where her aunt, Sr. Catalina was Dean of Music.

Her colleagues, co-teachers, students remember her to be a true lady, always well dressed, very organized and letter-perfect. Her letters, notes and correspondences were well-written that showed her love and kindness. She wore her clothes elegantly with perfect accessories; her cousin Inday Ely, who was a student at the school at that time commented that her wardrobe was planned and put together for each day, many months into the future.

She left teaching and came to the States and lived with her sister Inday Panching and her family in California and worked at Sears for many years.

At retirement, she came to live with her oldest niece Inday Queenie whose mother Inday Caring was Inday Fe's youngest sister who along with her husband Amador both came to the States to help raise their little "apo" Scott. She enjoyed traveling with them and catching up on her favorite sports on TV reminding everyone that even if we don't play sports, we can enjoy them by being good spectators - knowing the rules of the games. She spent part of her time in the Philippines with the rest of the clan, staying with her cousin Inday Nelly in Pototan.

Once asked if she enjoyed the fruits of her labor and her inheritance, she replied with a BIG YES - because she was able to give them all away to her loved ones -especially her siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, grands and great-grands.

On 13th of December 2019, she prayed the sinner's prayer asking her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to come into her life and take hold of it completely. She whispered that when the Bible was read to her, she was amazed that the verses became alive, that the words were speaking to her directly and she understood them. We thank God for His love and grace for such a wonderful, beautiful, and generous lady!

We are indeed fortunate and blessed to have been loved by Inday Fe and are truly grateful for her life and legacy. Our hope and prayer is that the younger generation can learn from her exemplary life.

She died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 in the City of Orange, California..
