Hampstead, NH: After a life well lived, Evelyn M. (Adrien) Shaw, a former longtime resident of Hampstead, died peacefully on Friday February 13, 2015, at the Eliott Hospital in Manchester, surrounded by her loving family.

Born, raised and educated in Lynn, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Mary (Furey) Adrien, she attended Saint Mary's Grammar School and graduated Saint Mary's High School.

A devoted housewife and homemaker, Mrs. Shaw was a resident of Saugus before moving to Hampstead in 1992. She was an active member of Saint Anne's Church of Hampstead and formerly attended and supported Blessed Sacrament Parish of Saugus and Saint Mary's Parish of Lynn.

She always enjoyed the holidays, cooking special things and entertaining her family and friends. Evelyn was never without something in her hands, whether it be crocheting hats and mittens for the St. Charles Orphanage in Rochester, or needlepoint or making cherished baby outfits for her ever growing family. Each newborn received a sweater and bonnet as well as baby blankets made with her love.

The wife of Herbert S. Shaw, who died in 2000 and to whom she was married for fifty-eight years, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Shaw) and John Skidmore of Hampstead, and Cindy (Shaw) and David Leonardi of Groveland,MA, two sons, and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey A. and Jeanette Shaw of Atkinson and Ronald S. Shaw of Bridgeton,Maine, a daughter-in-law Maura Shaw of Saugus, MA , eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her son Kenneth J. Shaw.

Relatives and friends may attend her Life Celebration on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead. A private family burial service will immediately follow in Lynn, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, 235 Myrtle St., Manchester, NH or to the charity of the donor's choice.
