Evelyn Catherine O'Bryan

Evelyn C. O'Bryan, 90, of Arcadia, CA passed away on Feb. 8, 2015. She was born on November 14, 1924 to Veronica Becker and Chester Roy in Evansville, IN. She married Eugene O'Bryan on May 17, 1944 in Ventnor City, NJ where he was stationed in the Navy. She and her husband owned Crest Paint and Wallpaper Decorating stores in La Canada and Tujunga, CA for 30 years. She was a member of the La Canada Women's Club and volunteered at Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, CA. After they retired, they moved to Palm Desert, CA where she volunteered at Eisenhower Medical Center in the Neo Natal Unit. She loved being around babies and singing them to sleep. She had a beautiful soprano voice, which she gladly shared in the church choir. She eventually settled down in Arcadia, CA to be near three of her children. Survivors include a son, Timothy O'Bryan of Henderson, NV, four daughters, Karen Dier, Roxanne Campbell (Steven), Janine Coyne (William) of Monrovia, CA and Maureen Young (Paul) of Debary, FL, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister, Rosemary Gutzweiler of Evansville, IN. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monrovia on Saturday, Feb. 14th, at 10:00am with a one hour viewing prior to mass and a celebration of her life immediately following at Matt Denny's Ale House in Arcadia. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cathedral City on Sunday. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Immaculate Conception Building Fund. She was much loved by all she touched and will be greatly missed by many.
