Evelyn Louise Mason

Evelyn Louise Mason, 68, born on November 15, 1945 in Ashville, North Carolina, passed away, peacefully at her home, surrounded by love, July 11, 2014. She resided in Yuba City, California, at the time of her passing.

Evelyn was one of six children born to the late Herbert and Bonnie (Griffin) Smith. She spent much of her life living in Southern California as well as Sacramento, California. Evelyn spent many years as a beautician, making people beautiful with her talent and smile. She spent several years as a banker. She will be most fondly remembered for her hardworking years as a homemaker. Evelyn had the gift of making everything around her beautiful. She made the best spaghetti sauce, meatloaf and chocolate chip cookies. She created an environment full of warmth and love.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters Jennifer Crum (James) of Citrus Heights and Sheri Morgado (Matthew) of Yuba City. She is survived by her treasured grandchildren James Crum (Emily), Natalie Crum, Peter Crum, Brooke Morgado (Evelyn's best friend), Andrea Morgado, Alexia Morgado, Amalia Morgado, and her granddaughter in love, McKenna Mathis. She is survived by her beloved sister Mary Francis Corbin, and precious brother Vernon Smith (Laura). Evelyn is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews who she adored as much as they adored her, their "cool" aunt.

Evelyn was predeceased by her father, Herbert Smith; her mother, the rock of this family, Bonnie (Griffin) Smith; sisters Jessie McWilliams (Mac), Mary Alice Cords, and Ruby Richards. Evelyn also was predeceased by two of her beautiful babies and two beautiful grandbabies. Her family takes solace in knowing she is holding those babies now, and dancing with her Mama and sisters. What a day of rejoicing.
