Obituary:
In loving memory of Evelyn Lau, a devoted mother, daughter and teacher who touched the lives of all those she encountered. Born on July 23, 1959, in Los Angeles to her beloved mother Anna, Evelyn's journey came to a peaceful end on April 6, 2024. Throughout her life, Evelyn embraced kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness that radiated joy and laughter to all those around her.
Evelyn married Samuel Lau in July 1985. She had two children: Brandon and Melissa. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
Known for her fun-loving nature, Evey enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved spending time with family, watching her favorite TV shows, reading, and doing arts and crafts. She loved her Judge Judy and crime investigation shows! She also made the most amazing cards wanting to celebrate the big milestones and celebrations of dear friends and family.
Evelyn was a dedicated teacher for over 20 years with LAUSD. She cared deeply for the success and well-being of her students. Her passion for teaching was evident in the countless students she inspired and guided with care and dedication.
Evelyn professed Christ as her Lord and savior. She came to know the Lord at First Chinese Baptist Church. She relied and looked to God during her long journey of many health issues. The hope is that she is with our Heavenly Father now, in peace and no longer suffering. Her legacy of faith and perseverance will echo through the lives she has touched.
Despite her departure, Evelyn's spirit lives on in the hearts of her surviving family: Brandon (son), Melissa (daughter), Anna (mother), Norman (older brother), and Ronald (younger brother). In their time of grief, may they find solace in the cherished memories shared with Evey.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Evelyn "Evey" Lau will take place on April 26, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills - Old North Church in Los Angeles. Friends and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects during this time of remembrance.
Evelyn's legacy as a loving mother, dedicated teacher, and joyful soul will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her time on Earth.
