Obituary

Evangelia Watkins, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, surrounded by love.

Born in Greece, she carried with her a deep appreciation for beauty, family, and tradition throughout her life. In 1960, she made the courageous decision to move to the United States, beginning a new chapter that would shape the rest of her life. It was in Greece that she met her first husband, a connection that ultimately led her to build her life in America.

She was a woman of deep devotion—to her family, to her community, and to the spaces she created around her. Her presence was both grounding and uplifting, offering a sense of comfort, elegance, and care to all who knew her.

Above all, she was a dedicated mother. She poured her heart into raising her children, creating a home filled with love, intention, and warmth. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the values she instilled, and the love she gave so freely.

In addition to caring for her family, she took great pride in her work as an interior designer. Many will remember her for her eye for detail and her natural ability to transform a space. She had a gift for making spaces feel both beautiful and deeply personal.

She later married John Watkins, who preceded her in death in 2004. Their time together added another meaningful chapter to her life as they spent every summer after retirement traveling to Greece and England.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Dina and her husband, Monya, and Annette; her cherished grandchildren, Zach and his wife Naya, Garrett and Gabrielle, and her sweet baby-boy-great-grandson John; her beloved siblings, Mihale, Maritsa and Yianni; and extended family and dear friends who will continue to carry her memory forward.

Details for the services honoring her life are included here below.
