Eugene R. Klunk

March 16, 1943 — January 31, 2021

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Gene R. Klunk, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and special friend to many. He left our world on January 31st, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19. Gene was a kind, considerate, fun loving man and blessed the many lives he touched.
He joined the navy right out of high school and was proud to serve our country for 4 years. While in the navy, he attended business classes, which led him to a career as an accountant. Then later had his own business as a Certified Financial Tax Consultant. He loved his work but even more, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by many.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sharon, 3 children, Robert Klunk (wife Danielle), Melissa McGlynn Klunk (husband Nicholas) and Melinda Gomez Klunk (husband Javier) along with his 3 grandsons, Daniel Gomez, Joshua Gomez and Demetri Campbell and a great grandchild, Ayden Gomez. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Lenora Klunk and his granddaughter Aileen Gomez.
Gene was born March 16th, 1943 in Kampsville, IL into a large family of 10 children. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings, but after the navy he settled in California to raise his family and remained there until his passing.
He is survived by his sisters June Puterbaugh, Lillian Sauer, Sharon Dunn and brothers Jim and Bill Klunk. Preceded in death by brothers Harold and Lawrence Klunk and sisters, Fanny Mae "Sis" Meyer and Betty Godar.
Gene was loved and respected by many friends and business associates and admired by the knowledge he was so often able to provide. His unexpected departure has left an emptiness to many of our lives, but we are blessed to know he is at peace with his other family in heaven.
His resting place will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Riverside, Ca.
