Eugene C. Eggers

Eugene C. Eggers, 72, passed away March 30, 2021. He resided in Glendora, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, California.

Gene was born on February 8, 1949 in Loma Linda California to Lorraine (Hasson) and Richard Eggers. After graduating from Temple City High School, he went on to receive degrees from Community College of the Air Force, East Los Angeles College, and Cal State University Los Angeles.

Gene joined the Air Force in 1969 during Viet Nam and after four years of active duty he continued his service in the Reserves until 2003, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant, the Air Forces highest enlisted rank. While serving his country in the Reserves, Gene also served his community with a distinguished career as a Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff for 25 years.

Gene is survived by his younger brother, Larry Eggers, and his wife of 46 years Mary (Stupak) Eggers. He met Mary on a blind date and after 3 months they were married on April 26, 1975. He has two sons, Jason (from previous marriage) and Ryan, and a daughter Amber. He also has 3 grandchildren, Jake, Kyle and Emma with another one on the way.

Gene was a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a generous person who was always willing to listen and provide advice. He was a good man with a big heart, and he will be deeply missed by those lucky enough to have known him.
