Ethan Forrest Schanning

Ethan passed away May 11, 2016 in Rancho Mirage, CA at the age of 30. He is survived by his parents, Harry and Betsy Schanning of Kirkland, WA, his sisters, Erin Schanning (Andrew Allison) of Austin, TX, and Meegan Schanning of Cedar Crest, NM, and a very loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ethan was born on August 23, 1985 in Albuquerque, NM. From a young age, Ethan had a passion for working with people and helping the most vulnerable populations. He became a registered Chemical Dependency Professional, counseling individuals in recovery at the Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers and the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) in Seattle. Ethan had recently finished the final courses for his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Northwest University, of which he was very proud. He was a compassionate and kind person who cared deeply for those around him, always lending an ear and offering a perspective filled with optimism and hope. Music was integral to Ethan's life. He spent countless hours creating and sharing his beautiful songs with chords, rhythms, and lyrics that touched the heart and soul. We will miss forever his big smile, sweet sense of humor, easy going nature, and engaging conversation that revealed his endless curiosity.
