Esther Reyes

Esther was born on December 2, 1948 to Eleuterio and Natividad Dizon. She was the second of their 7 children. Esther received a Bachelors degree in Home Economics from the Philippine Women's University. Esther met the love of her life Franklin, better known as Frank, while she was helping out Mamang in the cafeteria and while Franklin was working as a Mechanical Engineer at Mobil Oil Company. In 1973, the two got married and made plans to immigrate to the United States. Franklin was able to immigrate a few months after marriage, and a year later, he petitioned for Esther to come join him. The two of them settled in the city of Walnut. 

After purchasing their first house, Esther and Franklin had their first daughter, Jamie Dee. They decided to expand their family and bought their second home where they had their second daughter, Kathy Lee and 15 months later their third daughter, Lindsay Marie was born. Esther and Franklin raised their family in Walnut and remained at the same home for the last 47 years. Esther’s pride and joy were her three daughters and eventually her five grandchildren, Allie, Keira, Ashlee, Madeline and Gavin. 

Esther loved cooking for her family, traveling with friends, dancing with her beloved Franklin, watching crime shows and movies on Netflix and eating at different restaurants with her Barkada.  Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family and seeing her grandchildren. 

Esther will always be remembered as an outstanding Wife, amazing Mother, phenomenal Amma, wonderful Sister and loyal Friend.
