Dr. Esther Pereyra-Suarez, 88, born on September 19, 1925, in Montevideo, Uruguay, passed away December 28, 2013 in Glendale, California. She resided in Los Angeles County at the time of her passing. Esther received her undergraduate education in Uruguay and Chile, and her graduate degrees from Northwestern University and Stanford University. She taught in the Foreign Languages Department at San Jose State University for 32 years. The Esther Pereyra-Suarez Scholarship at San Jose State was established in her honor. Esther is survived by sons Charles and Robert, of Los Angeles County, and five grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, CA.
