Ester Perez Garrido

Ester Perez Garrido, a West Covina local, snappy centenarian dresser & a devoted Methodist Church parishioner passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 06, 2018. She spent her final day with Ruben, her beloved son and care giver. Ester migrated to the United States with her husband, Rafael Quijano Garrido on 1976, and soon after both became naturalized American citizens. She loved her community and going to Sunday church services.

Ester was born in Calaguiman, Samal, Bataan, Philippines on January 16, 1917. An inspired story teller, narrating how the family survived the hardships during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines in World War 2. She had a sparkling sense of humor and was blessed with long life all of her 100 years.

She is survived by her 5 children: Elizabeth, Wilfredo, Ruben, Noel & Florante; 7 grandchildren, Cheryl, Claire, Laureen, Justin, Kris, Kalvin & Heather; 5 great grandchildren, Clarisa, Sofia, Sebastián, Hunter & Liam. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary donation.
