Esperanza "Nenas" Ramirez, 91, born on September 10, 1924 to parents Idelfonso Ramirez and Juana Maria Vaquera, in Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 9, 2016. Nenas was a beloved mother and grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her children Jose Edwardo Palacios, Esperanza Palacios Cedillo, Rosie Palacios Cejudo, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Shortly after her birth her parents relocated to Zacatecas, Mexico. There she lived with her parents and siblings until she relocated to El Paso, Texas. During her time in Texas, she supported World War II war efforts and worked for a local military food manufacturer. She relocated to Los Angeles, CA from El Paso, Texas with her 3 children during the 1950's and shortly thereafter began a career as a seamstress. Her 30 year career included working for various clothing manufacturing corporations and a top fashion designer. Her talent and love for her craft extended out of her paid work. Her love for sewing continued long after her retirement. She continued to sew for family and friends and was frequently found sewing late into the evening on her sewing machine, into her late seventies. After her retirement, she traveled to Western and Eastern Europe, Israel, Latin America and the Continental U.S. She enjoyed exploration and was fascinated by the wonders of the world. Nenas had a love for fashion and culture and spent her retirement years frequenting local charity department stores with her daughter Rosie. She spent much of her last years devoted to her family and grandchildren.

Her last years of life was spent being cared for by her daughter Rosie and being surrounded by family. Nenas will be known for her selflessness and her generosity with her home and love. Nenas will continue to live in all who knew and loved her.

Private services will be be held on August 22nd, 2016 at 1:30pm at Glendale Forest Lawn, Wee Kirk of the Heather Chapel, followed by a small reception at Herman Free Methodist Church in Los Angeles, CA.
