Esperanza Castillo

Esperanza Castillo Escobar born on April 13, 1935, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025 in Upland, California and reunited with her husband, Sergio Castillo, her son, Sergio Antonio Castillo, her brother, Octavio, sister, Maria Lourdes, and her parents.

She was born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua where she also met the love of her life. They married in 1960 then moved to Los Angeles, California in 1979 to seek safety from civil war with their four children, Sergio Antonio, Cecily, Karla, and Patricia. They raised their family in West Covina before settling in Alta Loma, California where Esperanza resided in the home they built together until her final days. 

Her memory lives on through her three daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

A Novena prayer for the eternal rest of Esperanza will take place every day at St. Peter and St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Rancho Cucamonga, CA for the traditional nine days starting on November 2, 2025. 

The memorial service will take place on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 12:00 with arrangements under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA.
