Esmeralda Cu

Esmeralda Mercado Cu was born in the Philippines on September 27, 1946, and passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on February 12, 2026, at the age of 79. She was a longtime resident of Cerritos, California.

Family and friends are invited to a closed-casket visitation honoring our beloved Emy on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Patriots Chapel, Forest Lawn Cypress. A photo montage and live music to remember her and reminisce together will run from 5:00–7:00 p.m., with eulogies beginning at approximately 7:00 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Artesia, followed immediately by burial in the Garden of Protection at Forest Lawn Cypress. A lunch reception will follow the burial; restaurant details will be provided after Mass.

Instructions from Holy Family Church: Please park behind the church. If that lot is full, do not park at the library or in front of the apartments on Clarkdale (permit-only; you may be ticketed). Additionally, the Pastor has granted a dispensation from Lenten Friday abstinence so all are welcome to enjoy meat at the reception.
