Ernestine Djuvstad

Ernestine Djuvstad, a loving mother, sister, and aunt, left this world on January 24, 2026. She was born on October 17, 1940, in Sopris, Colorado.

Known affectionately as “Tina,” Ernestine cherished her family above all else. Her love for her daughters was deep, genuine, and unwavering—they truly meant the world to her. Family and close friends held a special place in her heart. While she kept a small circle, the friendships she nurtured were meaningful and enduring, with some spanning nearly her entire 85 years, beginning in childhood and lasting until her final days.

Raised with humble beginnings, Tina carried a lifelong dream of pursuing higher education. She proudly fulfilled that dream by earning a bachelor’s degree in business and procurement, an achievement that reflected her intelligence, determination, and natural business skill.

Her home was her sanctuary—a place of quiet comfort where she spent her final days. She found joy in tending to her plants and took great care of her health, firmly believing that proper nutrition and regular exercise were essential to a long life. An avid jogger for many years, she later transitioned to walking to maintain her well-being. She often said, “If you have your health, you have everything,” a belief she lived by.

Ernestine is survived by her daughters, Dona and Roberta; her siblings, Marie Sandoval and Norman Medina; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ernestine’s life will be held on February 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn–Cypress, located at 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, California.
