Ernest Ralph Dewsnap

Ernest 'Ernie' Dewsnap, devoted to God, beloved son, loved by all, passed away at home in Sherman Oaks, California, on August 26th while he was surrounded by close friends. Ernie was 85 years old and suffered from deteriorating health in the past few years.

Born June 22, 1930, in Revere, Massachusetts, where Ernie spent his formative years. Ernie's personality endeared him to many and as his life long friends, the Duffy's said, his personality was a gift from God. His humor, laughter, and easy smiles naturally complemented his friendship.

Ernie relocated to Los Angeles, first working for Pacific Employers Group, followed by Transamerica Insurance Group, where he was a Purchasing Manager. While working at Transamerica, Ernie pursued his love of travel. Upon retirement, he would plan and take several trips each year. Among his favorite destinations were the East Coast where he grew up and Alaska. When he started traveling to Europe, he loved it so much he made many return trips to England, Scotland, Paris, Italy and Greece. Ernie loved to travel with friends and on many occasions would bring them along as his guests.

Ernie's pets were some of his closest friends, whether it be his Siamese cats or the variety of pet dogs which followed, he loved all animals dearly.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents Ernest & Catherine Dewsnap as well as his younger brother Gerald.

Funeral services for Ernie will take place at the Old North Church located in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles CA, Wednesday September 9, 2015 at 9:00 am. Viewing available from 8:30 am until the start of the funeral service.
