In Loving Memory of Erlinda De Leon Viray

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Erlinda a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, nurse, and faithful servant of God, on September 21, 2025 at the age of 77.

Born on May 27, 1948, in Manila, Philippines, Erlinda was a beloved daughter and sister. She was a vibrant youth always adventurous and curious. Erlinda obtained her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Concordia College Marian Nursing School in 1969 and bravely, courageously immigrated to Minnesota in 1971 to start her career at the prestigious Mayo Clinic and ultimately moving to Los Angeles California where she continued her nursing career at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and retired after 42 years of dedicated service. In Los Angeles, specifically at LAX in 1975, Erlinda met the love of her life Nicolas Viray with whom she has been married for 47 years. Erlinda and Nick were blessed with a loving home in Cerritos, two children, three grandchildren, an abundance of lifelong invaluable family and friends and two beloved dogs. 

Erlinda lived a life rooted in faith and guided by love. She was selfless in every way—always giving, always caring, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy was her family, whom she cherished deeply, and she found strength and purpose in her walk with God.

As a registered nurse she served with compassion and kindness, touching countless lives with her gentle hands and tender heart. She had a spirit of adventure, finding joy in traveling and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation. At home, her love for animals reflected her gentle nature and the kindness that radiated from her soul.

Her grandchildren were her pride and delight, and she poured her love into them endlessly. To her family and friends, she was a source of comfort, encouragement, and unwavering love. Especially at the mahjong tables, where her joy shined bright. 

Though we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord. Her faith, her love, and her example will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
